Airline fares were 25.5% higher in July 2026 than a year earlier, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, giving travelers another reason to pay closer attention to where they begin a trip. Fares also rose 2.2% from June on a seasonally adjusted basis. Travelers looking for cheaper flights often focus on booking dates, travel days, or destination flexibility, but departure airport can also affect how often discounted fares appear.
A new proprietary analysis from flight-deal service Going examined the domestic and international deals it sent to members over 12 months. Going ranked airports using deal frequency, average savings, and average deal price. The findings are based on the company’s own fare data and identify the U.S. airports where it found discounted flights most consistently during the period studied.
Denver Leads The Best U.S. Airports For Domestic Flight Deals
Denver (DEN) ranked No. 1 among large and medium U.S. airports for domestic flight deals in Going’s 2026 Top Airports and Airlines for Flight Deals report. The airport produced 150 deals during the period studied, with an average roundtrip deal price of $219. Going said Denver’s strong performance was driven by competition among United, Southwest, and Frontier. The company found a similar pattern in New Orleans and Orlando, which ranked second and third.
“Denver, New Orleans and Orlando got there in different ways, but the throughline is the same in that more competition means lower fares,” Going flight expert Willis Orlando said in the company’s announcement.
Florida also performed strongly in the domestic ranking. Orlando, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, and Tampa all made the top 10 for the second consecutive year. Among smaller airports, Akron-Canton (CAK) ranked first, followed by West Palm Beach (PBI), Providence (PVD), Wilmington (ILM), and Savannah (SAV). Honolulu (HNL), Kahului (OGG), and Anchorage (ANC) ranked in the bottom three for domestic deals. Going’s detailed domestic analysis found fewer discounted flight opportunities from those airports during the period studied.
Boston Tops U.S. Airports For International Flight Deals
Boston Logan International Airport led Going’s international ranking, followed by John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport. Boston generated 415 international deals during the study period, with an average roundtrip deal price of $451. Going said Boston, JFK, and Newark benefit from their roles as major East Coast gateways. The company said Boston’s proximity to Europe supports transatlantic deals, while its JetBlue base adds a steady supply of Caribbean fares.
The international ranking also included several airports outside the largest traditional gateways. Raleigh-Durham and Austin entered the top 10 this year, while Orlando appeared in both Going’s domestic and international rankings. Smaller airports also performed well. Syracuse led that category for international deals, followed by Rochester, Providence, Westchester County, and Burlington. At the opposite end of the ranking, Kahului, Anchorage, and Oakland offered the fewest international deal opportunities among the airports Going assessed.
The company analyzed more than 45,000 routes sent as deals between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. Its methodology weighted deal volume and average savings at 35% each, with average deal price accounting for 30%. American Airlines generated the most domestic deals among the full-service U.S. carriers ranked, while United Airlines led internationally.
