Last month, Airbnb rolled out a slew of new trip conveniences, app features, and experiences just ahead of a bustling summer travel season.

Under the company’s Airbnb Services umbrella, guests in 25 cities across the country can order groceries via Instacart and pay $0 for delivery. To maximize convenience, those arriving in select cities can even have their host pre-stock the kitchen with their Instacart order. Additionally, through the end of June 2026, qualifying orders will get a $10 discount on purchases of $50 or more.

There are several other Airbnb Services now available:

  • In over 160 cities across the globe, guests can enjoy private car service between their Airbnb and the airport with Welcome Pickups, plus 20% off every ride.
  • Fifteen percent off luggage storage before check-in or after checkout in 175 cities worldwide via a collaboration with Bounce, plus visibility of nearby drop-off locations in the Airbnb app.
  • In-app viewing and booking of nearby rental car options, including “20% credit back toward your next stay, experience, or select services” after the first reservation.

For passionate soccer fans, Airbnb is also tapping into the hype around this summer’s FIFA World Cup. In six of North America’s host cities, the brand is offering “once-in-a-lifetime” experiences. These experiences include an intimate watch party in Los Angeles with World Cup champions and a training session with Javier Mascherano.

This summer, Airbnb Experiences is also featuring over 3,000 ways to explore and enjoy global landmarks, as well as over 2,500 unique food culture tours, classes, and tastings.

What Else Is There To Know About Airbnb’s Summer Updates?

The company rolled out the ability to book “thousands of boutique and independent hotels” across 20 global destinations, with more locations to come. In major cities, booking a featured hotel between now and the end of the year could land you an up to 15% credit on your next Airbnb stay. Additionally, the short-term rental giant promises a credit (up to $400 USD or the local currency equivalent) if you find a hotel on its platform listed elsewhere for a lower price, though stipulations apply.

With the app’s new homepage, users will be able to learn more about others’ travel experiences. Building in-app connections, they’ll also be able to save places in shared itineraries with their travel buddies. Additionally, users will be able to utilize AI-powered Airbnb comparisons, review summaries, and support.

Travelers can now book boutique hotels and many of the aforementioned experiences and services in select countries. Meanwhile, the ability to book car rentals, share your itinerary, and access other app features (like the new homepage) should be available before the summer’s end.

“Travel shouldn’t just be convenient. It should be meaningful,” says Co-founder and CEO of Airbnb, Brian Chesky. “The best trips help you explore, learn, and come home a little different than when you left. That’s what we’re building at Airbnb. And this summer, we’re giving people even more ways to do it—from incredible places to stay and boutique hotels that feel like Airbnb, to unforgettable World Cup experiences and services that make your trip easier.”
